RockShox ZEB setup
Pick your ZEB’s model year, then put in your weight for RockShox’s own starting pressure.
Pump to 58 psi. RockShox says this air spring needs no sag check.
Rebound, spacers and limits
- Compression: Low-speed and high-speed compression both at the middle setting.
- Rebound: RockShox does not print rebound clicks in its manuals or spec sheets. It sends you to RockShox Trailhead (trailhead.rockshox.com) for the starting rebound for your fork. While you set air pressure, RockShox has you turn rebound fully open (counterclockwise), then set it to the Trailhead number afterward. No Trailhead number? Start open, ride, and add damping a click or two at a time until the front wheel stays planted without bouncing. More air or more tokens speeds rebound up, so add damping after either.
- Sag: the chart pressure is the setting. If you measure anyway, expect roughly 34–51 mm (20–30%).
- Volume spacers at 170 mm: ships with 1, max 4.

Fix what you feel
Tap what your fork does. Fixes are for your Charger 3 / 3.1 RC2. Change one thing at a time, then ride the same section again.
Harsh over roots and braking bumps
Too much air, too much compression, or rebound too slow.
- Check pressure against the chart for your weight first. Well above it means too much air.
- Open high-speed compression 1–2 clicks (counterclockwise). If small bumps still feel hard, open low-speed compression 1–2 clicks.
Dives under braking and on steep roll-ins
Not enough low-speed compression, or too little air.
- Add low-speed compression 1–2 clicks (clockwise).
- Still diving? Add about 3–5 psi on DebonAir+, 5–8 psi on Linear XL.
Bottoms out hard on drops and big landings
Not enough high-speed compression, or the spring does not ramp up enough at the end.
- Add high-speed compression 1–2 clicks (clockwise). Still bottoming? Add one Bottomless Token.
- Stay within RockShox’s max token count for your travel (Linear XL: 5 at 150 mm, 4 at 160–170 mm, 3 at 180 mm; DebonAir+: 5 at 150–160 mm, 4 at 170–190 mm).
Never uses full travel, even on big hits
Too much air, too many tokens, or too much compression.
- RockShox says the fork should reach full travel at the right pressure. Let out about 3–5 psi on DebonAir+, 5–8 psi on Linear XL and ride it again.
- Pressure already on the chart? Remove one Bottomless Token.
- Open high-speed compression 1–2 clicks.
Bouncy, or the wheel pogos off bumps
Rebound is too fast.
- Add rebound damping 1–2 clicks (clockwise).
- Just added air or a token? Both speed rebound up, so add a click.
Rides lower and lower through rough sections
Rebound is too slow, so the fork stays compressed.
- Open rebound 2 clicks (counterclockwise).
- If it still sits low, check pressure against the chart and add air.

Full RockShox ZEB reference
Two charts. “2026 & older” covers 2025 and 2026 ZEBs plus the 2027 ZEB Base, all DebonAir+. “2027” covers the 2027 Ultimate, Select+ and Select with the Linear XL spring and a Linear XL decal on the lower leg. Putting DebonAir+ numbers into a Linear XL fork, or the reverse, gets the pressure very wrong. On DebonAir+ the pressure depends on travel: 150–160 mm runs about 8 psi higher than 170–180 mm, and 190 mm about 8 psi lower. Unsure which you have? Enter your serial number at sram.com/service. 2024-and-older ZEBs have their own sheets.

RockShox ZEB rebound setting
RockShox does not print rebound clicks in its manuals or spec sheets. This page covers two springs: the Linear XL (2027) runs about double the pressure, so use the Trailhead number for your own fork. Turn the rebound dial clockwise for more damping (slower return) and counterclockwise for less (faster return). Fully counterclockwise is fully open. Push the fork down hard and let go. If the wheel pogos off the ground or the bars kick up, rebound is too fast. If the fork stays low through back-to-back bumps, it is too slow.
RockShox ZEB compression settings
| Damper | Start at |
|---|---|
| Charger 3.2 RC2 | Low-speed and high-speed compression both at the middle setting (position 0 on the numbered dials). |
| Charger 3.2 RC | Compression dial fully open (counterclockwise). |
| Charger 3.2 Flight Attendant | Control Module on OPEN with low-speed compression at the middle setting (5 or 6), set through the Flight Attendant system. |
| Delta RC | Compression dial fully open (counterclockwise). |
| Charger 3 / 3.1 RC2 | Low-speed and high-speed compression both at the middle setting. |
| Charger RC | Compression dial fully open (counterclockwise). |
| Charger R | No compression dial. Rebound only. |
| Rush RC | Compression dial fully open (counterclockwise). |
| Charger 3.1 Flight Attendant | Control Module on OPEN with low-speed compression at the middle setting (5 or 6), set through the Flight Attendant system. |

RockShox calls them Bottomless Tokens. They change how hard the fork ramps up at the end of its travel, not its pressure. Add one if you bottom out, remove one if you never get near full travel. Adding tokens can speed rebound up, so add a click of rebound damping after. Linear XL (2027) allows fewer tokens on longer travel (see the table), and the Ultimate also has an ABO dial at the bottom of the air-spring leg: clockwise gives more support at the end of travel. Select+ has a three-position ABO inside the fork (Soft, Medium, Firm) that needs the lower leg off, so that is a shop job. Select has no ABO adjustment. 190 mm is DebonAir+ only, through 2026.
Which RockShox ZEB damper do I have?
- Charger 3 / 3.1 RC2: Ultimate and Select+ through 2026. Two stacked compression dials on top of the right leg (big high-speed dial with the small low-speed dial on top) and a rebound dial at the bottom of the right leg.
- Charger RC: Select through 2026. One compression dial on top of the right leg and a rebound dial at the bottom of the right leg.
- Charger R: Base through 2026 per RockShox’s spec tables. No compression dial at all, only a rebound dial.
- Rush RC: Base, if RockShox’s oil table is right (its spec tables say Charger R). One compression dial on top of the right leg and a rebound dial at the bottom of the right leg.
- Charger 3.1 Flight Attendant: Ultimate Flight Attendant through 2026. Battery-powered Flight Attendant Control Module instead of compression dials, plus the rebound dial at the bottom of the right leg.
- Charger 3.2 RC2: 2027 Ultimate and Select+. Same two stacked dials on top of the right leg and rebound at the bottom, but the dials have numbers on them (low-speed runs -7 to +7, high-speed -2 to +2 in RockShox’s photos).
- Charger 3.2 RC: 2027 Select. One compression dial on top of the right leg and a rebound dial at the bottom of the right leg.
- Charger 3.2 Flight Attendant: 2027 Ultimate Flight Attendant. Battery-powered Flight Attendant Control Module instead of compression dials, plus the rebound dial at the bottom of the right leg.
- Delta RC: 2027 Base (DebonAir+). One compression dial on top of the right leg and a rebound dial at the bottom of the right leg.
2027: Ultimate and Select+ have Charger 3.2 RC2 (Ultimate Flight Attendant has 3.2 FA), Select has Charger 3.2 RC, Base has Delta RC on DebonAir+. Through 2026: Ultimate and Select+ have Charger 3.1 RC2, Select has Charger RC, Base has Charger R (RockShox’s oil table lists Rush RC, so check for a compression dial).
RockShox ZEB service interval
RockShox recommends a lower leg service every 50 hours and a damper, spring and lower leg service every 200 hours (its 2027 kits say 200 hours or 1 year).
Questions
What air pressure should I run in my RockShox ZEB?
Pick your spring first. A 170–180 lb rider starts at 54–62 psi on a DebonAir+ ZEB at 170 or 180 mm (62–70 psi at 150–160 mm, 46–54 psi at 190 mm). On a 2027 Linear XL ZEB the same rider starts at 122–137 psi at 170 mm, 112–127 psi at 180 mm, 132–147 psi at 160 mm and 142–157 psi at 150 mm. E-bikes add 10 psi. Max is 148 psi on DebonAir+ and 300 psi on Linear XL. RockShox has you fill to 50% of that, cycle the fork slowly to 25% travel five times, fill to 100%, cycle five more, then top up to 100% again.
How much sag should a RockShox ZEB have?
RockShox sets DebonAir+ and Linear XL pressure from its chart and says the sag procedure is not required, so Linear XL does not use a sag step at all. As a check, its general guide is 20–30% sag: 36–54 mm on 180 mm of travel. Measure with the dampers fully open, dressed to ride, weight spread across saddle, bars and pedals.
How many clicks of rebound on a RockShox ZEB?
RockShox does not publish a rebound click count. Its manual points to RockShox Trailhead for the number for your fork. Set rebound fully open while you set pressure, then use that number. A 2027 Linear XL ZEB runs far more pressure, so it needs its own number.
Does this work for my older RockShox ZEB?
Not if it is a 2024 or older ZEB, or has a Charger 2.1 damper: those have their own sheets at sram.com/service. 2025–2026 ZEBs and the 2027 Base use the “2026 & older” chart. A 2027 Ultimate, Select+ or Select needs the “2027” Linear XL chart.
