Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar storage technologies the Suspend website (suspendmtb.com) uses, why we use them, and your choices. The Suspend mobile app does not use browser cookies; how the app collects usage analytics and optional session replays, and how to turn them off, is described in our Privacy Policy.

1. What we use

We keep things minimal. The website does not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking. The list below is everything the website sets in your browser.

1.1 Strictly necessary (always set)

  • Theme preference: localStorage key suspend_dark_mode. Saves your light/dark mode choice on your device only.
  • Consent state: localStorage key suspend_cookie_consent. Remembers whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies, so we don't ask again.
  • Contact form: localStorage key suspend_contact_attempts records when you sent messages so we can limit repeat submissions, and sessionStorage key suspend_contact_draft keeps an unsent draft if you reload the page. The draft is cleared when you close the tab.
  • Account email links: the page that handles password reset and email verification links (/auth/action) uses Firebase Authentication, which may create an IndexedDB store in your browser. We do not sign you in to the website.

1.2 Security (require your consent in the EU/UK)

  • Google reCAPTCHA v3: cookies set by www.google.com (e.g. _GRECAPTCHA) used to distinguish humans from automated abuse. We use this to protect our contact form. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Firebase App Check token: stored in browser IndexedDB. Cryptographic proof that a request is coming from a legitimate Suspend client. Issued by the reCAPTCHA system above.

1.3 Fonts

The website loads its fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser requests them from Google's servers, which receive your IP address as part of that request. Google Fonts does not set cookies.

2. Your choices

If you are in the EU or UK, a consent banner is shown the first time you visit. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies. Declining means our contact form will not work for you, because it relies on reCAPTCHA to prevent automated abuse.

Outside the EU/UK, we do not show the banner. You can still clear your browser's storage at any time to reset all of the items above.

3. Changing your choice

To re-open the consent banner and change your decision, use the button below. (You can also clear your browser's storage for suspendmtb.com, specifically the suspend_cookie_consent entry, to reach the same state.)

4. Updates

If we add new cookies or tracking technologies in the future (for example, analytics), we will update this page and re-prompt EU/UK visitors for consent where required.
