Hi, I'm Bennett. I built Suspend.
I built Suspend to address an issue I was actually facing: difficult & confusing setup for nearly all parts on modern mountain bikes.

How I got here.
At just 13 years old, I found myself hooked on the sport of mountain biking. I'd search for any means possible to get my 1999 Cannondale me out to the trailhead. I rapidly outgrew both my bike and the local trails, and I was soon traveling hours to ride at bigger bike parks and more technical trails.
When I got my first full-suspension bike, I was immediately interested in dialing in the suspension. I read everything I could find online, but it was hard to know what advice to follow or how to apply it to my setup. I tried spreadsheets, manufacturer apps, and asking my experienced friends, but nothing really stuck — it all felt like a means to an end, rather than something I enjoyed using.

A few years into my mountain biking career, I started a job at my local bike shop. I loved working there, and it was a great way to learn more about bike mechanics and suspension. But it also made me realize that the tools we had for dialing in suspension were still pretty clunky and not much fun to use. I wanted something better — something that would make it easy and enjoyable to get the most out of my bike's suspension.
What I ride.

Why I built it.
During my first season of serious riding, I had the idea to experiment setting up my suspension based on recommendations from ChatGPT. I fed it all the specs of my bike and asked for setup advice, and it gave me a detailed recommendation for my sag, rebound, compression, and more. I was amazed at how good the advice was — it was way better than anything I'd found on forums or YouTube. But there was one problem: it was a pain to use. I had to copy and paste all my bike specs into the chat every time I wanted to get setup advice, and it didn't save any of my previous setups or let me track changes over time. It felt like a cool party trick, but not something I could actually use on a regular basis.
AI can give every rider the kind of setup advice that used to require a sponsored mechanic.
That's where the idea for Suspend was born. I wanted to build an app that was easy and enjoyable to use, that would benefit all riders regardless of if they're on an after-work XC ride or racing downhill at a professional level.

So I built it. Suspend is the app I wish I had when I was starting out, and it's the app I still want to use every time I head out to the trail or the bike park. It's designed to be simple and intuitive, while also providing powerful AI-driven recommendations that get you dialed in faster than ever before.

Suspend is in early access. Get on the list — I'll ping you the second it's open.
